In the Kitchen with Jennie: Creamy Hummus

This is a easy and delicious recipe for homemade hummus. You can turn it into any flavor you like . . . mine ends up as Smokey Chipotle and Cilantro Hummus.

    Ingredients: 1- can garbanzo beans/ chick peas (reserve 2 tablespoons of liquid from can) ¼ cup Tahini – Sesame Paste 6 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons) 2-3 cloves fresh garlic 1 teaspoon salt 3-5 dashes your favorite hot sauce ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil Additional: 1 adobo chile 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro

    1. Start with your canned beans. Reserve 2 tablespoons of bean liquid then drain and rinse your beans

    2. Add them to the food processor
  •

    3. Add ¼ cup Tahini to food processor
  •  
    4. Fresh squeeze your lemons and add 6 tablespoons of juice to food processor
  •  
  •  
    5. 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic (depends on how much you like garlic) in the mix.

    6. 1 teaspoon salt goes in.
  •  
    7. 2 tablespoons of reserved liquid from can juice
  •  
    8. 3-5 dashes of your favorite hot sauce
  •  
    9. Blend this mixture for 30-60 seconds
  •  
    10. Slowly add in ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil while running processor.
  •  
    11. A plain batch is all done and ready to be served!
  •  
    12. I added one adobo chili and 2 tablespoons of fresh cilantro for a little extra flavor.

    13. Serve with fresh veggies/ pita bread/ chips or whatever your heart desires!
